This is a confidential search on behalf of a retail group that was established in Malaysia in 2005, and now has 400 stores in Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei and Indonesia and seeks to become the largest retailer of home improvement products in Asia Pacific. It now has 5,000+ employees, serving more than 110 million consumers annually throughout directly managed stores.
We are putting together the pioneer leadership team, in particular, the Sr Finance Manager who will be responsible for operation controls in finance and administration. S/he is responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the organizationâ€™s operational systems, ensures that organizational processes are efficient and effective and guarantees proper management of overall finance and administration matters. The Sr Finance Manager will coordinate cost saving measures for operations as much as possible and keep the overhead costs to the minimum. The ideal applicant needs to be process-oriented and possess management skills. The applicant also needs to demonstrate a capacity for taking and implementing decisions which apply to staff outside his/her team.
o Â Â Budget creation and monitoring in cooperation with the CEO and other management team members
o Â Â Preparation and coordination of financial monthly, quarterly closings and reports with external controller
o Â Â Preparing a monthly Financial report for sharing with the Management
o Â Â Coordination of annual financial statements
o Â Â Coordinating the external financial audit
o Â Â Quality control purchase requests, invoices and reimbursements
o Â Â Overseeing all payments and doing daily payments
o Â Â Support team with financial donor reports, invoices and payment requests
Â· Â Â Â Â Supervise payroll and taxes
o Â Â Coordinating new contracts, amendments to existing ones (including interns, consultants)
o Â Â Coordination of matters related to employee sick/leaves, government registration etc
o Â Â Overall responsibility for logistical and operational processes including:
ï‚§ Legal and insurance obligations
ï‚§ IT, mainly internet and telecom
ï‚§ Occupational health and safety of staff
ï‚§ Other office management functions
ï‚§ Staff management
Â· Â Â Â Â Other tasks to help deliver the goals set in the overall strategy and annual plan
Required Skills & Qualifications
Â· Â Â Â Â Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant positions including direct responsibility for staff and organizational budget; 1-3 years retail experience is a plus Â
Â· Â Â Â Â University degree (bachelorâ€™s degree) in a relevant area such as Finance/Economics/Business Administration; MBA is a plus
Â· Â Â Â Â Knowledge of accounting systems, HR/Philippine Labor Law and experience with payroll are an asset to the job
Â· Â Â Â Â Sound knowledge of financial management & control rules and practices as applied in the Philippines
Â· Â Â Â Â Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English (i.e. fluency in English is a pre-requisite).
