Bicol Region that designates in Region V and comprises six provinces, expanded in terms of economic status in 2016 by 5.7% with major contribution of the region industry and services. Although the industry slowed down as compared to its expansion ie the previous year, services increased yet similarly at slower growth. The effect of services from the increased job hiring available in the region, made the largest contributor to the region's percent economic performance. Since the beginning of the new administration, the region is continuously adjusting that affects its performance. The Transportation, Storage, and Communication growth slowed down in 2015, as well as Trade and Repair of Motor Vehicles, Motorcycles, Personal and Household Goods. Also, as the growth on home-based business and online shop increased, more jobs became open for search. As per the Regional Development Plan 2017-2022, the region attains a "Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na buhay para sa lahat".
